Straps

Why You Need Them

Straps reduce some of the grip strength required in heavy lifting and can help increase your grip’s capacity in deadlifts, snatches, and any pulling modality. Because such movements require so much grip strength, straps allow you to stay secure on the bar when grip becomes a limiting factor.

IronMind Lifting Straps

DURABLE, COMFORTABLE, NON-SLIP

A stronger, more durable version of traditional cotton straps, the nylon IronMind Lifting Straps are versatile and effective when you don't want to be limited by your grip. Despite their strength, our testers found that they rest comfortably on the wrist without cutting off circulation and don’t move once set in place, so you can keep going long after your grip gives out.

We Also Tested

Schiek Power Lifting Straps

Our testers were split between these and the IronMind straps. They found that the Schiek straps were easy to break in and form to the wrists while also being durable. However, they also noted that the straps became uncomfortable after a few reps when they were cinched down.

Nordic Lifting Straps

While our testers liked the idea of the padded neoprene cushion at each wrist, they found them to be a performance detriment because of how bulky they were.

Rogue Leather Lifting Straps

Although the straps were well-constructed, they were hard to break in, which proved to be an issue for many of our testers.

DECIDING FACTORS

Sturdiness

was the most important factor when evaluating and ranking the different straps.

Non-Slip

was the key functionality differentiator that put IronMind as their top pick.

Why Our Testers Loved
The IronMind Lifting Strap:

“I really liked how when you set them in place, they didn't move. They held on super tight through all the lifts."

- Madison Perkins

“These just worked right. Secure and durable, they didn't slip when lifting heavy and didn't chafe or provide any discomfort around the wrist.”

- Brian Leon

“Felt like I barely had to break these in at all. They were ready to go right out of the box and I could barely tell they were there, even when working through some 1RM lifts.”

- TJ Vondra

“These ended up being my favorite due to how easy they were to break in and not being so stiff around the wrists. They're simple but also very durable.”

- Tyler Perry
