The challenge

What was once considered a heavy, restrictive and uncomfortable material for cold-weather gear is now regarded as a premium performance fabric worn year long due to merino wool’s impressive natural tech features. The natural odor resistant, thermoregulating and moisture wicking properties of wool make the Merino Tech Collection high-quality gear for high-intensity training.

To put the Merino Tech Hoodie and Shirt to the test, we collaborated with some of our top athletes whose training ranges from urban CrossFit boxes to the mountains of Montana. After thorough testing, the verdict was clear: the super-comfortable and ultra-soft performance Merino Tech Hoodie and Shirt will help elevate your training and keep you in the gym or on the trails year-round.

Eric Hinman is always looking for the next big adventure. This five-time Ironman finisher spends his free time mountain biking, hiking, trail running, and frequenting some of the top CrossFit boxes in Denver. Equally at home in the gym as he is on the trails, we knew Eric was the man to put our new Merino Tech Collection to the test. We had him take the Merino Tech Shirt for a spin during one of his recent training days in Greensville, SC.

The Verdict

SUPER LIGHT

I like to layer the wool collection - the hoodie and shirt combo is perfect for chilly mornings commuting to the gym. The shirt is super light and unique, I honestly haven’t trained in anything like this before. It's perfect for running, biking, climbing, and outdoor workouts. I wore it for a full day of workouts and (after it dried out), you could hardly tell I had sweat in it at all. And the inner lining of the hoodie is one of the softest materials Ten Thousand has released to date.
