10 MINUTES WITH ERIC

Q: WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUR TWENTY-YEAR OLD SELF?

To stretch more. To not abuse your body. To live a full life - not a half one.

Q: WHAT LESSONS HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM FITNESS THAT HAVE SERVED YOU THROUGHOUT YOUR LIFE?

My serious fitness journey (mind and body) is a short one. One thing that has changed my life forever is learning to set intentions and follow through every morning prior to the day consuming me.

Q: WHAT KEEPS YOU MOTIVATED?

Giving folks a fighting chance to take back their life.

Q: WHAT’S THE ONE WORKOUT YOU ALWAYS DREAD? WHAT’S THE ONE WORKOUT YOU ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO? WHY?

I dread any workout that contains thrusters! I look forward to the workouts that start slow and end with a metabolic finisher. By that time, my old bones are finally warmed up.

Q: WITH ANY NEW MODALITY YOU GET INTO, HOW DO YOU APPROACH IT IN ORDER TO MASTER?

Ask questions from the pros who have laid the ground work. Find out what questions I am not even thinking about.

Q: DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE FAILURE? HOW HAS THAT SET YOU UP FOR LATER SUCCESS?

My favorite failure is a long line of failures over the last 20 years. Understanding the beauty on the other side has taught me the power of empathy, compassion, and forgiveness. I can relate and recognize folks who are going through similar pains. This has led to a successful coaching business that I feel so proud of.

Q: WHAT IDEA, PERSON OR BOOK HAS BEEN THE MOST INFLUENTIAL IN YOUR LIFE? WHY?

My wife, Dr. Katie Keller. She "saved" my life in multiple ways. Healed my feet from chronic pain. Taught me the power of a real food/whole foods diet. Stuck by my side while I was transforming to a new person.

Q: HOW DO YOU EMBRACE THE “BETTER THAN YESTERDAY” MINDSET IN YOUR DAY-TO-DAY?

Its not always about being actually better for me. It's about understanding that we have the awesome power to be better than yesterday. It's a choice we can make. That path becomes clear.
